About the Therapist
After gaining a BSc First Class Honours Degree in Psychology in 2001, Lyn began her career in forensic psychology, specifically following her interest in working with patients with complex, long standing mental health problems who had also offended. This led to her working in a private medium secure environment with patients suffering from schizophrenia. Subsequently, she moved to the NHS high security hospital estate at Broadmoor Hospital where she delivered CBT to male patients who were accommodated within the Dangerous and Severe Personality Disorder Service, by virtue of having been diagnosed with personality disorder/s and psychopathy.
She completed a Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology in 2004 and has also worked for HM Prison Service, specifically with juvenile offenders aged 15-18 years.
More recently, Lyn completed a Masters Degree in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and now works clinically with patients experiencing ‘everyday’ life problems such as anxiety and depression. In addition to her clinical work, Lyn also lectures on a variety of mental health issues, clinically supervises other staff working in mental health settings and offers training and workshops on a variety of mental health topics including stress ‘inoculation’ training and anger management workshops.
